HERE ARE SOME OF MY MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
How much does it cost? Do you take insurance? How does insurance work anyway?
My regular fee is $140 per session. Depending on need and availability, I offer a sliding scale so please call to discuss fee.
I do not take insurance. I did take insurance briefly, but I quickly realized it didn't work for me or my practice. I won't bore you with the entire story, but I discovered that I was spending more time on the phone dealing with insurance companies than focusing on what really matters to me, which are my clients.
Since I am a licensed therapist, I can provide you with a statement that you can take back to your insurance company for reimbursement.
How does scheduling work? Do I have to come in weekly? How long are the sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. I sometimes run over but I never charge for that, unless we agreed to have a longer session. I do not require that people come to therapy weekly. I completely understand that therapy is expensive and life is busy and complicated. I want to meet you where you are at, not only emotionally, but also in terms of how you want to structure therapy/coaching. After the first session I am usually able to say how often I think we would need to meet to in order to meet your specific goals. I never recommend more therapy/coaching than what is truly needed.
How long will I be in therapy?
I don't believe therapy needs to last forever but the answer to this question rests with you. Let’s say you sign up to meet with a personal trainer at your gym once a week for an hour. If that’s all you do, you probably won’t see any results. You might lose a pound or two and you may be a little more toned but you probably won’t look like Kate Hudson in yoga pants. Now let’s say you sign up with that personal trainer, go to the gym and workout on your own 3-4 days a week and change your diet - you will see changes. Therapy works the same way. If you do not practice the tools and techniques I give you, if you do not change any of your negative behaviors and you don’t read any of the books I suggest, then your own personal growth will move very slowly.

You may stumble across me on social media. I want to let you know up front that to protect your confidentiality and maintain the boundaries of our relationship, I do not accept "friend requests" or invitations to connect on social media from my clients. If you try to connect with me on social media I won't accept but I will be happy to discuss during one of our sessions. I will not prevent you from nor will a solicit Facebook "likes" on my business page, "follows" on Twitter or Instagram. You are welcome to, but in doing so you may lose some of your confidentiality as my client.
